Gatineau, December 13, 2008 - On Friday, December 12, two hundred volunteers went out in the cold to complete 245 rides for Operation Red Nose Outaouais.

Among the vounteers who will be working tonight, we will have staff from Subway Restaurants, Official Presenter of Operation Red Nose Outaouais, and Promenade KIA, one of our sponsors.

The free chauffeur service will be on again December 18, 19, 20, 26, 27 and 31. Operation Red Nose Outaouais can be reached at 819-771-AUTO, i.e 819-771-2886.

People who want to register as volunteers can print the registration form  available online at www.operationnezrouge.com, or pick up a paper copy at Subway restaurants, Caisses Desjardins and points of service of the Société d'assurance automobile du Québec.

Operation Red Nose is a unique program dedicated against drinking and driving. Essentially, it is a volunteer driving service provided during the Holiday Season to all drivers who have been drinking or who do not feel fit to drive their own vehicle. Even though the service is free, donations are welcomed and, in our region, go towards a sport fund administered by Loisir sport Outaouais, project sponsor of Operation Red Nose Outaouais.
