News Release For Immediate Release Operation Red Nose: Busy Weekends Ahead!Gatineau, December 12, 2007 – Operation Red Nose Outaouais is getting ready for its busiest weekends throughout the Operation. The number of calls is expected to soar on the nights of December 13 - 15 and 20 -22. "Registration forms are coming in regularly, however, the more people sign up, the shorter the wait time will be for users" said Ms. Catherine Grenier, Director General for Loisir sport Outaouais. People who are interested in volunteering must fill out a registration form that will be checked by police authorities. Registration forms are available on Loisir sport Outaouais' Web site at www.loisirsportoutaouais.com, or by calling Operation Red Nose Outaouais at 819-771-AUTO (819-771-2886). Saturday, December 15, the Honorary President of the 2007 edition Mr. Michel Mayrand, Canadian Tire owner, and employees of Canadian Tire stores of the Outaouais will be giving revellers safe rides home. "Alike Loisir sport Outaouais, the Canadian Tire stores of the Outaouais support our community and our youth" said Mr. Mayrand. "Each volunteer giving a couple of hours of their time and each person using the service actually contributes to two good causes: public awareness of impaired driving and financial support of our young athletes" he added. Since November 30, Operation Red Nose Outaouais' volunteers gave more than 700 safe rides home. The service is running on December 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 28, 29, and 31. Volunteers who have already signed up may drop by the headquarters at 120 Charlevoix Street (Hull sector) at 10:00 p.m. on any of these nights to participate.
